New certifications and ALL of the updates!

I’m so excited to announce the re-launch of my website, thanks to Joshua Wilhelm at JW Creates and Jenny Walker at JW Photography! Over the past couple of years, I have been training more, completing additional certifications and shifting my business focus to include Workplace Wellness Coaching and Pilates Mat Teacher Training at a national level. If you already know me, thank you so much for the support! If you don’t know me, allow me to re-introduce myself…

I went to PT school over 20 years ago after I injured my shoulder in a car wreck and understood the power of physical therapy myself. At the time I was in graduate school in statistics, so everyone thought I was a little crazy to make that leap. While I was in PT school, I injured my back training for a marathon and that’s how I found Pilates. I just showed up to my local studio one day and fell in love with the work, and I was honestly floored by the lack of back pain that I had after one single class. This was long before the combination of Physical Therapy and Pilates was popular, but I really believed that they complemented each other so well that I decided I needed to open a studio. I was the first person in the state of Alabama to be a licensed physical therapist and a certified Pilates instructor, and the first person to open a Pilates-based physical therapy clinic in the state.

My husband and I moved to Chattanooga 7 years ago after having our daughter and wanting to be closer to family. Chris is originally from here and never actually wanted to move away, so we were fortunate to get the opportunity to relocate when we did. I will always be an Alabama girl, but I love this city! I really have the most amazing clients, and I am so fortunate to be able to do what I do.

I have been open in my current location for almost 5 years and in the past 2-3 years, I have been exploring other avenues to give back and use my talents. I have gotten certified in blood flow restriction training, functional dry needling and the Franklin Method Back Fascial Training. I am now a Workplace Wellness Coach and have been approved by the National Pilates Certification Program to train instructors in Mat Pilates to be able to sit for the National Certification Exam (NPCP-PMC). I continue to love my job doing one-on-one sessions in Pilates-based physical therapy and even one-on-one Pilates sessions for my athletes!

Chattanooga has been such a welcoming place for me and I’m so happy to serve this community. Please reach out to me with any questions that you may have. I would love to meet you!
